Blooming Branches

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

All winter long we wanted flowering branches to show clients or enjoy ourselves instead of all the snow and bare trees outside that seemed to surround us for so long.

So we forced them to bloom time and time again.

With the official change of the seasons last week and the warm weather approaching, new blooms are all around and bringing smiles to everyone.

Trees and bushes like Forsythia, Quince, and Cherry Blossoms are creating the pops of color that only make us aware of the beauty that comes after a long endured winter season.

Mother Nature is starting to show off new life and it’s only a matter of time before all of the trees are fully covered in leaves.

Go outside, enjoy the weather, and take in your surroundings…

before we know it winter will be upon us again :)

Celebrating Collaborations

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

As soon as Kathy said  ”Seeing this blog just made my day!”,
we all stopped what we were doing today to check out the beautiful blog
posted today by Elizabeth Anne Designs.

Kathy worked with Beka and Kimberly of Innove Events
to style an  Easter Brunch that was stunning!
The photographs by Marie Labbancz were fabulous.

Everyone brought their talent and creativity to the table.
Below are a few shots but check out Elizabeth Anne Designs blog for more details.

Trowel Time

I celebrate all the seasons. Spring for me is getting back outside and being in the garden.

This Saturday, March 27 is the Open House at Carolyn’s Shade Garden.
After a long winter,  I have always loved walking through the 2 acres of beautiful,
organic gardens and have gotten inspired by different plants and flowers.
I am always amazed at what low maintenance plants can grow in the shade!

Carolyn's Shade Garden

She grows about 70% of the plants she sells, and she grows the plants in the ground in her own garden because she feels that growing plants in the ground through at least one winter is the only way to tell whether they are really suitable for her area. The garden is full of labeled plants and if you see something you love, you can purchase it from the sales area.
