Modern Design and Technology Celebrated at the Philadelphia Art Musuem

Wednesday, June 1st, 2011

We were thrilled when asked to create a modern, hip event to celebrate light as art
at The Philadelphia Art Museum. This event was an incredible opportunity to push creative boundries with the use of modern technology.
TableArt assembled the A-team, AFR Furniture Rental, Cort, Elan ArtistsEventions Productions, Marie Labbancz Photography, Stephen Starr Events.

With a guest list of clients attending LIGHTFAIR International, there was no doubt that lighting was a key design element. There were many additional components that completed this spectacular evening that we wanted to share with you.

LIGHTFAIR International
LIGHTFAIR International
is the world’s largest annual architectural and commercial trade show and conference blending continuing education courses with innovative products ranging from high-end design to cutting-edge technology.
This year it was held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

Focal Point
A focal point is an important element from which every other design element radiates.
The sculpture of Diana is the featured focal point of the Philadelphia Art Museum. As guests entered, they were ushered up the grand staircase flanked with red glowing spheres and illuminated pink ice tornados that lead to this beautiful, classic sculpture.

Lighting Scheme
Given the very educated audience attending this event, a great lighting design was important. Kathy Warden of TableArt worked closely with Brian Toner of Eventions Productions to design the lighting scheme so that the guests attention was focused on the  different spaces in this event. Video Walls, Plasma screens and video coffee tables tables were used to showcase the clients innovative product line.

Innovative Technology
A simple, floating cymbidium orchid was beautifully showcased
as an art piece displayed on a contemporary cocktail table with an internal light source.

Pink Mokara Orchids

Black, White and Pink
The hot pink mokara orchids popped off the black shimmer linens and
provided a fun focal point in this black and white mod lounge area.

Details Captured
TableArt loves working with photographer Marie Labbancz. She captured the large scale effects and the intimate details beautifully. Her unique editorial style has made her one of the most widely published wedding photographers.
We love the quote off of her website:

“The aim of every artist is to arrest motion, which is life, by artificial means
and hold it fixed so that  hundred years later, when a stranger looks at it,
it moves again, since it is life.”  William Faulkner

Mod Intimacy
Several distinctly styled lounges were created for guests to share private moments.

There is the old adage, “If your going to do it …go big!”
The timeline for the turnover was tight. Many thanks to all of the talented designers
and their hard working staff members for making this a successful evening.

Artistic Rendezvous

Friday, March 11th, 2011

A collaboration of talented artists gathered together
to celebrate and express individual creativity.

Musicians, Floral Designers, Chefs, Graphic Designers, Lighting Designers,
Event Planners and …yes, Writers, we are united artists striving to create innovative
unbeige expressions to our clients and to ourselves.

TableArt recently collaborated with Artesano Events and Catering, Elan Artists,
Eventions Productions and Two PaperDolls for a fantastic event at the Artesano Gallery.
We share with you the story of our unbeige artistic rendezvous.

Flower display

TableArt‘s inspiration for a dramatic first impression for guests came from Artesano‘s glass tabletop with decorative ironwork.

Glass containers designed with white floating candles and perfect white anemones were symmetrically placed at proper eye level to provide a focal point.

loft

Artesano Gallery is a loft style, converted warehouse, exhibiting magnificent,
hand forged iron artwork. The wooden benches with red velvet seat cushions shown on the far left in the image above that was TableArt‘s inspiration for the dramatic 3-D buffet composition. Ironically, when edited images from Shane Carpenter Weddings came in, it was discovered that this bench was inspiration for our photographers and musicians.

red carnations

Unbeige red carnations were designed to represent
the red velvet bench seat cushion. The four “benches” of  carnations created a square frame for the 3-D, geometric buffet design. This design created plenty of space for
Artesano Catering and Events to place platters and trays.

Repeating circles and orbs using different materials,
collectively created a impressionable, three dimentional art installation.

Shane Carpenter Weddings represented by Elan Artists
found the same wooden bench inspirational
as shown by this fabulous image of Carte Blanche.

Carte Blanche is a unique jazz group that can transport listeners from
an American speakeasy, to a Parisian Cafe, to the streets of Havana.
They have  the ability to perform in six different languages.

The red velvet bench played an important role in this image of exceptional art and artistry captured by Shane Carpenter Weddings represented by Elan Artists.

intimate conversation

Subtle amber uplights provided by Eventions Produtions
created a warm environment for intimate conversation. It was interesting to discover that what was TableArt‘s initial inspiration for decor,
unfolded to be a part of the evening for our guests and fellow artists.

jazz

The evening rolled out and the Artesano Gallery was filled with guests enjoying jazz artistry of Carte Blanche represented by Elan Artists.

This unique image of the shadow of the chandelier captures the contemporary, photojournalistic vision of Shane Carpenter Weddings

Stella Notte Invite

The invitation sets the tone and builds the buzz for any event. With paper as the canvas,
Two PaperDolls created two dimensional art that graphically painted the picture to guests of the evening to come. We have taken a different approach of sharing with you the image of the invitation created by TwoPaperDolls at the end of our story to show how brilliantly the invitation captured the details of the evening from the font to the fabulous background.
