Van Gogh “Up Close” Inspires Light and Floral Designs

Friday, February 3rd, 2012

A hint of Spring is in the air, creating the a perfect setting for the Van Gogh Up Close exhibit to open to the public at The Philadelphia Museum of Art.

Inspired by Van Gogh, the Dutch Post-Impressionist noted for his bold color and rough beauty, TableArtEventions Productions and Stephen Starr Events created a memorable Opening Gala for the Van Gogh Up Close exhibition. A special thanks to the fabulous Marie Labbancz who captured the evening with her incredible photography.

The evening began by leading guests up the Great Stair Hall
through a path of blooming branches.
The Eventions Team added dramatic branch gobo’s. The effect was spectacular!

The contrast between the modern square mirrored charger
and the navy shimmer linen was elegant and dramatic.

Guest tables were placed around the Upper Balcony overlooking the Great Stair Hall.
Trailing down the center of each table were modern still life floral arrangements created from oncidium orchids, craspedia, fringed tulips and calla lilies accented
with birch branches and twinkling lights.

An amazing image captured by Marie Labbancz.

Twinkling lights in the arrangements could be seen from across the balcony.
For added ambience loose lavender rose petals were placed inside LED votives.

It was a pleasure to work with each of the talented professionals
to create a memorable evening celebrating Vincent Van Gogh.

Franklin Institute Awards – Rooms in Bloom

Wednesday, May 18th, 2011

Since 1824, The Franklin Institute has honored the greatest men and women of science, engineering, and technology. The Franklin Institute Awards are among the
oldest and most prestigious comprehensive science awards in the world.

This year, the brightness of spring was celebrated
and every room was in full bloom at The Franklin Institute.

Sometimes, paradoxically, mix and matching textures, scales and pattern
can make the most dynamic events. The key is to work with an established dominant element.
In this case, the crisp color palette of orange and white was balanced by the use of gold
as a neutral. Modern acrylic chairs popped against the classic interior architecture.

How a flower is expressed makes a centerpiece memorable.
A traditional orange carnation was given plenty of personality
designed as a whimsical sphere placed on top of glass bubble glass containers.
The zebra pattern on the Mulberry Gold linen complimented the scale of the spheres perfectly.

Beautiful amber uplighting provided by Moore Events surrounded the perimeter of the room.

The Ming Moon Linen grounded the over the top arrangement of white hydrangea, white hawaiin dendrobeum orchids,
mokara orchids and orange roses designed on acrylic pedestals.

Beautiful and Bright!

Let’s face it, there are many talented, creative people in the event industry that have passion for their work and individual style. TableArt was honored to have Laura Lerner,
Meetings and Special Events Manager at The Ritz-Carlton, Philadelphia,
take the time to send us the following:

“I was at the Franklin Institute Science Awards Gala last night and the first thing I asked
when I walked in was who did the flowers.  Of course it was Table Art!!!
Everything you did was beautiful from the centerpieces on the Hors d’Oeuvres/Dessert Tables
to the centerpieces upstairs for the dinner… absolutely LOVED them all.”

From all of us at TableArt, many thanks Laura for taking the time to share your kinds words.
