Creative Labor Day Picnic with CBS

We had a great morning taping a segment for
CBS Talk Philly on Creative Labor Day Picnics.
The segment is about how to use items from around your home
to make a creative Labor Day Picnic Table
while still incorporating family traditions.

The flowers were all from Maple Acre Farms,
a local family farm located in Plymouth Meeting.

In addition to amazing local fruits and vegetables,
there are 6 acres of pick-your-own Zinnias available for everyone to enjoy.

was on site with great insight and support.

Tartlet pans containing a healthy snack of blueberries were placed at each guests seat.
The place cards made from “recycled, recycled” grocery bags were held up with clothes pins.
Dish towels from IKEA were used as napkins.
Spattered tin plates placed on ceramic chargers are a nice change from plastic or paper.
Break out the fun stuff!

Jamie is the best! It is so fantastic to work together.
She laughs at my jokes and makes the hard work fun.

We all loved Pat’s Ciarrocchi dress!

I have so much respect for Pat and all she has accomplished. I loved talking with her on and off camera. The segment will air on Monday at 12 on CBS.

Classic Wedding with Modern Flair

We are so excited to share with you some of the incredible images captured by photographer Marie Labbancz from a classic wedding with touches of modern flair.
Both the ceremony and the reception were held at The Hyatt at the Bellevue.
Gina Sole did a fantastic job planning a seamless evening.

Fresh flowers were frozen inside a solid block of ice for
an incredible first impression centerpiece on the escort table.

Two classically styled arrangements designed in alabaster urns flanked the ceremony site and complimented the architecture of the room perfectly.

The ceremony took place in The Rose Garden Ballroom.

Gorgeous Details!

We loved creating the Bide and Groom’s initials
out of coordinating flowers on the back of their chairs.

We wish our very special Bride and Groom and their families,
a long life of love, health, happiness and together.

Beautiful Bouquets

Flowers and herbs have been a part of weddings ceremonies since the beginning of time. Women carried herbs and garlic to celebrate marriage
as a gift from nature and to ward off evil spirits.

Today, we consider Bridal bouquets as organic jewelry
that reflects a Brides’s personal style and flair.
We share with you some of our favorite Bridal Bouquets from this summer and
the wonderful photographers who have captured them with timeless images.

Party in the Park

The Mann Center for the Performing Arts hosts the Party in the Park Gala Celebration during the summer concert series every year. This year marked the 75th Anniversary of the live music in Fairmount Park, Philadelphia.

The act last night featured Aretha Franklin, Condoleezza Rice, and the Philadelphia Orchestra. The evening was enjoyed by a crowd of 8,000; 600 of which attended the Gala.

While setting up, we were able to enjoy the voice of Aretha Franklin while she was rehearsing for the performance later that evening.

The registration table gave the guests a taste of what was to come inside the tent.

The colorful zinnias that were picked from Pete’s Produce looked stunning on the cocktail tables dressed in the Glacier Linen.

The space consisted of 65 dinner tables in two tents. Three different linens with three different centerpieces created the atmosphere for the celebration.

The overlays were provided by Special Occasions and the underclothes were by Party Rental.

White Orchid Plants on top of Marrakesh Linen.

Large Alocacia Leaves, Large Monstera Leaves, and Medium Monstera Leaves with Curly Willow Branches sit upon the Sunrise Organza.

Glacier Blue Hydrangea and Cafe Dahlia compliment the Milan Organza topper.

It was a great night to enjoy the music in the park with the Philadelphia skyline in the distance, and the bonus was that temperature was cooler too

raspberries and zinnia

i was totally inspired today after a visit to a local farm

fields of zinnia, snapdragons, cosmos and scabiosa were totally in bloom

driving home i past rasberry bushes in bloom.. what a day

oh the simple joys of summer..

Modern Color

This bride wanted a creative colorful design that would fit right into
the modern surroundings of PAFA.
For the guest centerpieces, we love the contrast of brilliant blues, yellows and whites
designed in a reflective mercury glass container.

Billy balls looked super cool next to blue hydrangea.

Dramatic arrangements for the ceremony were then repurposed
and used as guest centerpieces.
We loved the effect of inverting Ti leaves inside the glass cylinder.

Companion blooms delicately placed on the geometric cake provided the perfect finishing touch.

This is a fabulous example of how pin spot lighting can dramatically change the look of your guest tables. Lighting was provided by Sharon Moore Events.

Jasper Jon’s American Flag was an incredible background for the place card table!!

Yellow Peonies

This beautiful peony was the perfect flower for a recent event at
The Springside School.

As daylight dimmed, the brilliant pop of the color of the peonies
contrasted against the texture of the succulents.

Vision Come True

Back in January, I wrote a blog entitled “Pedicure Not Required”.
The blog was about the vision a bride had to walk down a tree lined orchard lined aisle barefoot.
Her vision came true this past Sunday at The Adoboun House in Adoboun, Pa.

Chair clusters designed in mason jars hung from the back of the chairs to mark family rows.
The hazel blue double-faced satin ribbon coordinated with the Bridemaid’s dresses.

The color palette was just “picked from the garden” pale blue, purple and white. The bride loves blueberries.
Blueberry branches were used on the place card table, centerpieces and with the boutonnieres. Bowls of fresh blueberries were placed on guest tables.

Images of a cow, a fish or a carrot on each guests place card indicated to the caterer which meal was chosen.

Beautiful table numbers that reflected the orchard that the couple got married in were incorporated within the arrangements.
Guest table arrangements were designed in mason jars. She provided boxes of Jordan Almonds wrapped in hazel blue ribbon for each guest.
She had an incredible eye for details

This beautiful fireplace is located with in the reception site. Candles created a soft, summery romantic feeling.

I was such an incredible pleasure to be a part of Dante’s vision.
We met back in January and worked together all along the way.
I loved working with her and I am so happy that she did walk down a tree lined orchard barefoot.
